Road-rage fight results in stabbing in Rochester

Local News – November 20, 2009 - 4:35pm

A road-rage incident this afternoon sent a man to the hospital.

Rochester police Officer LaRon Singletary said the road-rage incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. The drivers of a black car and a red car stopped at the intersection of Culver Road and Humboldt Street, got out and started to fight.

A man from the black car allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the man from the red car in the neck and the chest, Singletary said. The passenger in the red car drove the wounded man to the area of East Main Street and Culver, where they stopped a police officer.

Rural/Metro Medical Services took the wounded man, who is in his 20s and was not otherwise identified, to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Police are looking for any information about the driver of the black four-door car, who fled the scene.
