Wheatland store robbed by two suspects

The Dollar General store at 3892 Scottsville Road in Wheatland was robbed early Sunday.

Two men assaulted the store’s manager as he opened up for business at 6:25 a.m.. They forced him to open the safe and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Monroe County Sheriff’s Cpl. John Helfer.

The manager suffered minor injuries as a result of being struck in the head by the suspects, who taped him up before leaving, Helfer said.

No other information was available.
