Mangione matriarch dies
Nancy Bellavia Mangione of Rochester, the mother of jazz musicians Chuck and Gap Mangione, died Wednesday at age 95.
Chuck Mangione wrote a song for his mother called “Bellavia,” her maiden name, for which he won a Grammy award.
According to her prepared obituary, Nancy Mangione worked at Samson United and later, with her husband Frank, owned Mangione’s Market on Martin Street.
