Rochester man indicted on sex abuse charges
A federal grand jury has indicted a Rochester man on three counts of sexual abuse.
Lucas George Wickes, 24, was arraigned in federal court today.
Wickes is charged with attempting to engage in and engaging in a sexual act with a 13-year-old by the use of force and by threatening the minor while on a cruise ship in 2007.
He is charged with aggravated sexual abuse, aggravated sexual abuse of a minor and sexual abuse of a minor.
If convicted on an aggravated abuse charge, Wickes faces a minimum sentence of 30 years and a maximum of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. The sexual abuse of a minor charge carries a maximum prison term of 15 years, a fine of $250,000, or both.
