Robert Ball accused of raping girl in NW Rochester

A city teen accused of rape today pleaded not guilty in City Court.

Robert L. Ball III, 18, of 30 Dana Street was charged yesterday with first-degree rape, a felony, according to City Court records.

Ball is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in a residence in northwest Rochester the evening of June 10, said Rochester Police Sgt. Mark Simmons. Further details were not released.

Ball was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. He is expected to return to City Court for a preliminary hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
