Brett Havens, 24, of Chardonnay Drive, Perinton was stabbed after attempting to deliver food to a residence on Briggsboro Lane in Perinton, said Monroe County sheriff’s spokesman John Helfer.

Havens arrived at a home on Briggsboro Lane about 6:50 p.m., said Monroe County sheriff’s spokesman John Helfer.

When no one answered at the residence, the deliveryman headed back toward his car. He was then approached by another man and a struggle ensued. The deliveryman was stabbed in the chest, Helfer said, and the man who stabbed him drove off in a vehicle.

The deliveryman drove himself to a nearby gas station, where an ambulance was called to take him to Strong Memorial Hospital. It didn’t appear that anything was taken, Helfer said.

Havens is in satisfactory condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. Sheriff’s deputies continue to search for a suspect.
