Amerks shut out Syracuse for 7th straight win

Alexander Salak stopped 34 shots for his first American Hockey League shutout while Graham Mink and Jamie Johnson scored early goals as the Rochester Americans defeated the Syracuse Crunch 3-0 this evening.

The victory ran the Amerks winning streak to seven and they are 8-1-1 overall. That includes a 3-0 record against the Crunch.

Salak started all three games on the weekend and allowed just three goals. He stopped

Mink scored just 2:45 into the game and Johnson’s power-play goal 3:55 into the second period provided a 2-0 lead.

Shawn Matthias scored with 23 seconds left on a power play.
